General Information

PHYSICAL TRAINING

PT Schedule:

ALL BLOCKS WILL PT ON FRIDAYS

​

PT Gear:

-Green T-shirt (issued with uniform) or MCJROTC t-shirt (purchase)

-Workout pants or shorts that adhere to school dress policy

-Appropriate footwear (athletic shoes/sneakers) Mandatory

Physical Training (PT). PT will be conducted as noted above. The training will be progressive, challenging, and varied. The session may consist of calisthenics, running, pull-ups, organized team sports, and running the obstacle course. If the student has a physical limitation such as asthma, “trick” knee, etc, this must be indicated in the cadet processing forms. A current physical examination may be required for the student to remain active in the JROTC program. Students will be administered the National Youth Physical Fitness Test twice a year as a scored event.  Proper PT gear is to be worn as stated above.

 

UNIFORM INSPECTION

- Uniform should be clean and pressed

- Sleeves shall be rolled up and neatly cuffed.

- No "boots and utes" unless specified for an event. Wear blouse at all times.

- Males: Regulation hair cuts (no hair over ears) and clean shaven

- Females: Long hair pulled up and back in a bun or hairstyle that allows cover to be worn

  to regulation. Hair will be held by clips, pins and/or ties that match hair color. Short hair is

  not to touch or exceed the collar. Minimal, neutral make up. No colored nail polish.

- Proper military bearing is demanded when in uniform. Act accordingly.

- Wear your uniform with pride. 

- Absolutely no public displays of affection (PDA) while in uniform.

- Covers are always worn when outdoors and removed when indoors.  NO EXCEPTIONS

COMMON COMMANDS

"EYEBALLS" 

​- Issued by Platoon Sergeants and above. All cadets in the presence of the command are to snap to attention, respond loudly with "SNAP SIR/MA'AM!" and quietly await further instruction.​

"LOCK IT UP"

- Issued by any cadet to quiet the room.

​

"ATTENTION ON DECK"

​- Issued by the first cadet to see an adult (other than Maj Merrill or MGSgt Johnson) or someone unfamiliar entering the ROTC classroom. Command will be shouted loudly to allow all to hear it. Cadets will respond by snapping to attention and will reamin at attention until the order of "As you were." or "Carry on." is issued.

 

"CARRY ON"

- Resume what you were doing; as you were.

 

"DOUBLE TIME"

- Quickly; at a run.

 

"AT EASE / AT REST"

- A position of rest in which soldiers may relax but may not leave their places or talk.
